Anchortcert Independent Diamond and Gemstone Certification Service was founded ten years ago as a separate division of The Birmingham Assay Office.  From its early beginnings as a diamond certification service AnchorCert has grown and consolidated its expertise.

Following heavy investment in industry leading state-of-the-art gemmological instruments, experienced gemmologists, continuous training and high quality marketing and promotional materials, along with serious commitment and hard work from all of the team, AnchorCert has now established itself as the leading UK gemmological facility.

AnchorCert has adopted the principles fundamental to all divisions of The Birmingham Assay Office. It offers a consistent, fast service intended to protect both the trade and the consumer, based on integrity and unbiased expert opinion. It was only the second gemstone facility in the world to earn UKAS accreditation, which is testament to its consistency and competence and it has been innovative in responding to changing market needs.  AnchorCert was the first UK diamond and gemstone certification service to offer assessment of mounted stones and also established a straightforward Tanzanite grading system to assist UK retailers with the growing interest in the Tanzanite trend.

Recently the innovative Mini Max report has offered an improved consumer orientated presentation and AnchorCert now offers a full range of coloured stone authentication and identification services, which also includes pearls.
