PRESS RELEASE:

NEW ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN - TESTING YOUR METAL -  AND NEW BROCHURE FOR THE LABORATORY

The Laboratory at the Birmingham Assay Office enjoys a worldwide reputation for its proven capabilities in the analysis and testing of precious metals, including gold, silver and platinum group metals.

What may not be quite as well known is that the Laboratory, under the guidance of Chief Assayer and Technical Director, Dippal Manchanda, also offers its expertise across a wide range of associated materials and other metals.

It is, for example, a leading authority on nickel release testing, colour testing of gold and white gold and testing of metals for susceptibility to tarnishing and durability.  Whilst precious metals and jewellery are the mainstay of The Laboratory’s work, it also undertakes testing work on of a range of base metals such as copper, zinc, tin and lead.  The Laboratory also undertakes ground breaking research projects and offers training courses and consultancy in many areas of expertise.

All these capabilities are detailed in a new full-colour brochure outlining the work of The Laboratory.  A new look advertisement entitled “Testing your Metal” has also been launched and will be appearing in a range of technical and trade journals covering the jewellery, metal finishing and surface engineering industries.

Anyone who would like a copy of the new brochure or would like more information about the services provided by the Laboratory can call 0121 262 1036 or email:  Testing@theassayoffice.co.uk, to request a copy.
