How do I submit samples?

To expedite sample processing and therefore delivery of results, we suggest you do the following:

  1. Clearly mark sample bags with the sample code using ink.
  2. Fill out and enclose a copy of our ‘Sample Submission Form’ including sample preparation and analytical instructions.
  3. Include your return address and contact number.
  4. Clearly mark all international sample shipments as "Sample for the Analysis –
    No Commercial Value”.

How do I Request a Quotation?

The Birmingham Assay Office would be happy to prepare a quotation based on your analytical and sample volume needs. We are always available to discuss the most appropriate analytical techniques for your samples.

Please provide us with the following details so that we can prepare an accurate quotation for you:

  • your name, the company name, mailing address, phone and fax numbers and email address you would like the quote issued to and the work billed to
  • expected numbers of samples and elements to be analysed
  • types of samples (Powder/Metal/Catalyst)
  • required turnaround time

How do I Choose Analytical Methods?

The Birmingham Assay Office technical staff would be happy to discuss with you which methods would be most appropriate for your samples. Our Chief Assayer/Technical Director Dippal Manchanda – dippal.manchanda@theassayoffice.co.uk or our Account Manager Tim Smith –tim.smith@theassayoffice.co.uk are available to answer your questions on the technical aspects of all methods.
