 ESTABLISHED EXPERTISE
The Birmingham Assay Office is the leading Nickel testing specialist in the UK. The following Nickel testing services are available from our team of specialised experts :
- SCREENING TEST – indication of possible failure only – results within two days
- NICKEL RELEASE TESTING, according to procedures based on BS EN 1811:1999. Testing of unplated items to confirm compliance - results usually within nine working days.
- NICKEL RELEASE TESTING according to procedures based on BS EN 1811:1999 and BS EN 12472 . Testing of plated products after a Corrosion/Wear simulation of two years of use – results usually within nine working days.

- NICKEL CONTENT DETERMINATION – results usually within three working days. This is no longer recognised by the legislation but may be a valuable component of a due diligence programme.
N.B. Where possible results will be provided for each of the various components from which the article is manufactured, provided it can easily be dismantled without damage to any part. See the UK Testing Policy click here.

RESULTS
Test results are supplied on a UKAS accredited certificate. These certificates will be accepted throughout the EU.

SUBMITTING SAMPLES
Submitting samples couldn’t be easier. Just download the Application form (click here) and send your completed form and samples to The Laboratory, The Assay Office.
