The Birmingham Assay Office speaks to members of The National Trust in Solihull
The Birmingham Assay Office gave a presentation to the members of The National Trust Solihull at St Martins School, Solihull on Tuesday 10th May. They heard all about the history of The Birmingham Assay Office and its work today as well as learning about Birminghams illustrious Silversmiths through the centuries right up to the present day.

A large audience of National Trust members gathered to hear all about Birmingham's wonderful history of silversmithing and the role of The Birmingham Assay Office - past - present and future

The audience members from the National Trust were alarmed to hear that there was once again a threat to the future of Hallmarking in the UK . Many questions were asked during the evening and members were determined to add their support by leaving a comment on the government's Red Tap Challenge website
