 Birmingham Assay Office has created fantastic new potential for the UK Jewellery market with the launch of its new laser marking service for diamonds.
The service has been introduced in response to growing demand from members of the Trade keen to add value to their product and heighten consumer interest and demand. The new innovation, launched at Spring Fair 2002, offers creative manufacturers and retailers almost unlimited scope to create their own unique product.
Laser marked diamonds have of course been available in the UK in recent years but the inscriptions have all been carried out abroad, restricting the possibilities for the UK trade. The Birmingham Assay Office service will offer a very quick turnaround allowing for a much more flexible and spontaneous approach and a viable personalisation service.
Laser marking can be used to add credibility to the product: the girdle of Certificated diamonds can now be inscribed with the certificate number, reinforcing the integrity and authority of certification.
