From the M6 (about 10 minutes travelling time during the day)
Leave the M6 at junction 6 and follow the signs to City Centre/A38 .
Keep straight on past the first two slip roads.
Pass Aston University on your left. Keep left over the flyover over at Lancaster Circus (fire station below you on your left)
As you come off the end of the flyover move over to the left.
The Birmingham City Thistle Hotel is on your left.
Do not go down the tunnel, but keep left up to the major roundabout controlled by traffic lights. At the roundabout take the third exit signposted A41, Handsworth
At first traffic lights turn sharp left into Water Street
then right into Livery Street
Then first left into Mary Ann Street which then becomes Charlotte Street.
Pass St. Paul's Church on your right. The Assay Office staff car park is behind the blue railings on your left. Please ensure you have a space booked in advance before parking here. Deliveries of large items should be made through this entrance.
Birmingham Assay Office is on the corner of Charlotte St and Newhall St. Our main reception is situated on Newhall Street up the steps flanked by blue railings.
Beware the double yellow lines outside, although traffic wardens have been asked to be lenient to drivers making deliveries.
An NCP car park is situated on Newhall St, 50 yds past the front entrance to the Office. There is also on street pay and display parking in the area.
