European Hallmarks & Convention Marks

There are a variety of Hallmarking arrangements in other countries, some of which are comparable with our own.

1. Other European countries have compulsory independent hallmarking

2. Some European hallmarks are recognised in the UK and goods marked with these do not have to be resubmitted to a UK Assay Office

3.  Nearly twenty countries belong to the International Convention which allows participating countries to apply the Common Control Mark which is then recognised throughout all Convention member countries. Click here for more information.
