BOULTON 2009 “CALL FOR PAPERS” - Added 27.11.07
In addition to a substantial exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to commemorate the bicentenary of Matthew Boulton’s death, a prestigious
international academic conference is to be held in Birmingham in 2009.
Boulton was a man of very many talents – he manufactured silver, ormolu, coins, medals, steam engines, and was a member of the Lunar Society – so Boulton studies cut across several academic disciplines. In order to attract the range and calibre of appropriate speakers, the University of Birmingham and the University of Central England - the partner institutions - will release a call for papers.
The Birmingham Assay Office is keen to ensure that 2009 is a year to remember for Birmingham itself and visitors to our historic city, and The Office has agreed to sponsor the call for papers.
