Quarterly Hallmarking Figures / April - June 09

No respite in falling market

The downward trend in the number of units submitted for hallmarking to the four UK Assay Offices continued during the quarter ended June 2009. The total number of articles hallmarked was down by 19% to 3,371,020 articles. The hardest hit category was 9ct gold which has fallen by 38.7% but Silver has remained strong, with the same numbers as last year.
